During the Christmas holidays, Troy and Gabriella, two adolescents who have nothing in common but their hitherto unknown passion for music, end up singing together at a karaoke party. Soon afterwards, they run into each other again at high school. Troy is a high school basketball star and Gabriella is a new student who has just started to attend classes. When Troy and Gabriella meet again, they decide to participate in the casting of the annual school musical. In order to pursue their dreams, they will have to fight the prejudices of their school mates and show everyone the value of friendship and the acceptance of one’s self.
