Since 1961, the ancient cathedrals of the Kremlin have been graced by the presence of a modern building whose architectonic style sharply contrasts with that of the surrounding buildings. That modern building is the Palace of Congresses, used for the celebration of political events, congresses and conferences, as well as artistic performances. This great building made out of glass walls, with capacity for six thousand people and 1,500 employees, has been home to the headquarters of The Kremlin Ballet since 1990, the year of its foundation. The Company has become a famous and highly acclaimed figure on the Russian art and theatre scene and it is considered a subsidiary of the Bolshoi Theatre. Its artistic director and choreographer is Andrei Petrov, Honoured Artist of Russia and associated with the Bolshoi Theatre for almost a quarter of a century.

Dedicated since its foundation to the great classical repertoire, The Kremlin Ballet has staged numerous major productions, such as The Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Giselle, The Corsair, The Sleeping Beauty or The Nutcracker, among many others. The Kremlin Ballet has a slew of incredibly talented artists and brilliant soloists, some of whom have been recipients of prestigious national and international awards.

Our ballet lovers will have the opportunity to enjoy this delightful ballet based on Shakespeare’s tragedy and set to the wonderful music of Sergei Prokofiev.
